As part of our work towards a sustainable events industry, Leeway is working towards ISO 20121 compliance. Part of this is looking at how we use energy at our events. Coming out of lockdown we decided to take the bold step to remove fossil fuels wherever possible from our work.
LeEcoGen is a Lithium Ion based battery power delivery system. It is capable of producing 19 Kwh of clean 240v AC power. It can be used alone for a single event and is recharged from a supply using only renewable energy sources.
If the power draw is more than a single charge can supply we can add up to 3kw of solar panels to keep the level topped up direct from the sun.
In larger systems LeEcoGen can provide power smoothing by supplying peak power requirements. This allows fossil fuelled generators to run more efficiently saving fuel costs and enabling smaller generator sets to be used.
Version 2 is now up and running
After a very successful development period and extensive heavy use, we've taken what we've learnt about how the system is used and rebuilt it into a flexible and easily deployable system. The batteries are scalable depending on the expected use and the system is now much more transportable. We've also added an additional inverter to our stock giving a light weight solution where lower power is required. It is still capable of producing an output of 6kw peak and is happy running flat out at 3kw if needed. This unit is perfect for parades and can be deployed on our purpose built battery powered procession base.
